Dedric L. Bonds, a native of Georgetown, S. C., is a Prevention Specialist with the Georgetown County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission, a teacher at The Georgetown School of Arts and Sciences and is the Managing Director of the Winyah Auditorium. Most recently, he was selected as one of 25 teachers to be a part of the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Teaching Institute. He has also served as the Chairman of the Georgetown County Democratic Party (2015-2017) and is a member of the inaugural class of the James E. Clyburn Political Fellows (2016). He received his BA degree in History from Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA, later, matriculated at Clark-Atlanta University, Atlanta, GA, in pursuit of the MA degree in History. Dedric’s professional interests are varied, having worked as a political consultant, teacher, and an award-winning reporter.
His enjoys reading, cooking, music, and family time. He is a proud husband, father, son and God-fearing community man.
