John Vincent: All In for Defeating MAGA Rep. Russell Fry

Retired U.S. Navy Command Master Chief John Gregory Vincent Tuesday evening revealed his strategy for defeating MAGA Rep. Russell Fry and capture the SC-7 seat in Congress.

“I’m a force to be reckoned with when I’m pissed off and I’m pissed off,” said Vincent, speaking to the Carolina Forest Democratic Club. “Everything that’s being done hurts the middle class.”

In this clip, Vincent said 33% of District 7 voters are hardcore supporters of Fry and Donald Trump, but a recent poll shows that 17% of them actually see Fry as too extreme or supporting authoritarianism but voted for him because of economic concerns.

Given the current political climate, Vincent says SC-7 should be 60-40% Democrat, and pledged to bring his determination, skills, and energy to winning that seat.

Vincent served our country for 20 years as a Navy submariner and in addition to working to support the middle class, the second of the four pillars of his campaign is to support our veterans.

“I spent most of my career on nasty submarines,” he said, “and nothing upsets me more than when people come up and say ‘thank you for your service,’ and then turn around and screw the veterans.”

The third pillar of his campaign is to reduce the federal debt, and Vincent said Trump’s plan to expand tax cuts for the wealthy would add $4.7 trillion to the debt.

The fourth pillar, he said, is holding Fry accountable for his unwavering support of Trump’s MAGA movement. “Fry can’t uncouple himself from that brand,” Vincent declared. “He has nowhere else to go.”

Vincent challenged those who say he has no chance of defeating Fry and said what’s needed is to turn out voters who sat out the last election, but who previously had voted for Joe Biden.

“We Democrats have been way too passive,” he said. “When Fry took office, he was plus 1 percent with independent voters. Now he is minus 29 percent. He’s never been this low with independents.”

“I will call out the lies,” Vincent promised. “This is going to be nasty. Russell Fry will deliver voters to our door. I’m going to be in front of 100,000 people over the next several months.”

Trump and Fry, he said, are interchangeable. As with Trump’s tariffs, “They start the fire, get out the fire extinguisher, put out the fire, and then say that they’ve saved the day.”

Brain PalmerMeanwhile, Brian Palmer, County Council Chair candidate and HCDP First Vice Chair Jason Strow also addressed the group.

Palmer, also a retired Navy veteran, promised transparency with all County Council activities. “People want real change. Right now, Horry County is set up like a country club. We can do a lot better.”

Strow urged voters to learn about their precincts and those in charge and recommended using the https://SCVotes.gov website for more information.

“Let’s build now,” he said.
