Micah Gore, Bridging the Gap

Micha GoreMicah Gore has formally announced that he will seek to become an elected member of the Horry County School Board District 1. The election for this seat will take place November 6, 2018.

Mr. Gore attended Horry County Schools and graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School. He received his Bachelor of Education degree from South Carolina State University in 2002, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree from the University of Phoenix in 2007. He taught at Brunswick County School for 14 years.

Presently, Mr. Gore is a Resource Advisor for ORIGO Education; ORIGO provides mathematical resources and professional learning to educators throughout the world, offering products to inspire and empower teachers and students. He works with states and school districts to help them “become better equipped to meet best practices in early childhood/elementary mathematics.”

He is devoted to finding ways to close the achievement/opportunity gaps for children in Horry County and says, “There are many voices to be heard and I want to hear all of them.”
