Building a Stronger, Safer, & More Inclusive Myrtle Beach

About the Candidate

A lifelong resident of Myrtle Beach, Terrance Butler is a dedicated community leader, small business owner, and youth advocate with a deep-rooted passion for service, equity, and progress. With over a decade of experience in leadership, public engagement, and program development, Terrance is running for Myrtle Beach City Council to ensure our city continues to grow while remaining inclusive, vibrant, and community-focused.

Terrance holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Presbyterian College and is a proud graduate of the Leadership Grand Strand program, Class of 2022. His career reflects a strong commitment to both personal development and the betterment of others—particularly underserved youth and families in the Grand Strand area.

In 2012, Terrance founded ESA Fitness, a premier training program that helps athletes reach their full potential, both on and off the field. Under his leadership, ESA has helped numerous local athletes earn college scholarships and prepare for professional opportunities, including NFL Combine and Pro Day evaluations. His personal training and wellness programs also support adults in achieving their fitness goals.

Terrance is also the co-founder of the ESA Dream Foundation, which raises scholarship funds for underserved athletes and artists through community-focused events and fundraisers. Through this initiative, he has provided critical resources and opportunities for young people across the region.

With additional experience in event marketing, youth mentorship, and education—including roles with Horry County Schools, Presbyterian College, and Leadership of the Grand Strand Program—Terrance brings a well-rounded perspective to public service, and always working to uplift others and build stronger community connections.

He currently serves on the Community Advisory Council for Partnership Grand Strand, and has led numerous service projects, including school supply drives, holiday food and toy giveaways, sneaker collections for underserved communities, and public speaking to business groups & horry county schools.

Terrance’s campaign for City Council is rooted in Legacy and Leadership—reflecting his commitment to honoring the city’s past while advancing a bold vision for its future. His priorities include investing in youth development, supporting small businesses, improving public safety, and ensuring that Myrtle Beach remains a place where all residents can thrive.
