As we approach the Democratic Presidential Primary on Saturday, February 3, we’re thrilled to share the incredible journey of the South Carolina Democratic Party’s “We Go First” Tour.
Over the past few weeks, SCDP has made a remarkable 100 stops throughout the state, starting in York County on January 13 and concluding tomorrow in Marion County in the PeeDee.
Throughout this tour, they have engaged with communities, both rural and urban, across every corner of South Carolina. The message is clear – for the first time, the voices of black, brown, rural, and southern voters take precedence in selecting our Democratic nominee for President.
We invite you to join us on Friday, February 2nd, for our final event, marking a powerful statement to the rest of the nation that South Carolina Democrats are ready to make their voices heard on Saturday.
Adding to the excitement, we’re honored to have former Alabama United States Senator Doug Jones, representing the Biden-Harris campaign, join us at our concluding event. Senator Jones, a distinguished federal prosecutor, played a pivotal role in bringing justice to the victims of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing. His remarkable achievements include authoring “Bending Toward Justice: The Birmingham Church Bombing that Changed the Course of Civil Rights.”
Post his tenure in the U.S. Senate, Senator Jones was chosen by President Joe Biden in 2022 as the Nomination Advisor for Legislative Affairs, contributing to the successful confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
We’re eagerly anticipating Senator Jones’ presence as we conclude the We Go First Tour in the PeeDee.

Reflecting on the extensive “We Go First” Tour across nearly every county in South Carolina, SCDP is proud to have organized and participated in over 115 events, reaching voters through phone calls and text messages.
