Myrtle Beach, SC — October 16, 2025 — The Horry County Democratic Party (HCDP) is proud to announce an inspiring lineup of keynote speakers for the 13th Annual SHORE Dinner, to be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Surf Golf & Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach.
The SHORE Dinner is a cherished tradition that unites Democrats from across Horry County and beyond to honor the contributions of community leaders, celebrate Democratic values, and recommit to building a brighter future for all South Carolinians.
This year’s featured keynote speakers will include Representative Ro Khanna and Representative Jonathan L. Jackson, who will both appear virtually.
Rep. Ro Khanna serves California’s 17th Congressional District in Silicon Valley. A leading progressive voice in Congress, he is in his fifth term and serves as Vice Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Khanna has championed American manufacturing, technology innovation, and climate action—authoring the Endless Frontier Act, which became the foundation for the CHIPS and Science Act signed into law by President Biden. He made history by bringing fossil fuel executives before Congress to testify on climate disinformation, and continues to advocate for policies that improve the lives of working families. Born in Philadelphia to Indian immigrant parents, his commitment to service was inspired by his grandfather’s work alongside Gandhi in India’s independence movement. Before serving in Congress, Khanna taught economics at Stanford University and worked in the Obama Administration.
Rep. Jonathan L. Jackson represents Illinois’ First Congressional District, carrying forward a proud legacy of activism and public service as the son of civil rights leaders Rev. Jesse Jackson and Jacqueline Jackson. He has championed legislation advancing criminal justice reform, and educational equity, including support for H.R.40, the Justice for Incarcerated Moms Act, and the Black History Matters Act. Jackson serves on the House Committees on Agriculture and Foreign Affairs, where he has advanced bipartisan initiatives on food security, global human rights, and equitable economic development. A graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, he is a proud member of both the Congressional Black Caucus and the Progressive Caucus. He remains deeply committed to expanding opportunity, defending democracy, and uplifting underserved communities.
In addition, the SHORE Dinner will feature several distinguished guest speakers, including:
- Mullins McLeod – candidate for Governor of South Carolina
- Sylvia Wright – candidate for Superintendent of Education
- John Vincent – candidate for U.S. Congress (SC District 7)
