Brian’s personal life is deeply rooted in Horry County, where his wife serves as a Registered Nurse. He is also a proud father of a 17-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter. His experience in leading teams and working collaboratively across political lines makes him an ideal candidate to represent District 10 on the Horry County Council.

Platform

As Horry County continues to expand westward from the Atlantic Ocean, it’s essential that current and future residents benefit from the following priorities:

SMART Infrastructure

To ensure our communities are resilient and efficient, we must embrace technology and sustainable building practices. This includes conducting traffic studies, addressing school overcrowding, expanding emergency facilities and personnel, and promoting affordable housing with green spaces to reduce our carbon footprint. Energy-efficient homes and an expanded public transportation system are key to preparing our region for the future.

Flood Mitigation

Horry County has faced significant flooding challenges in recent years, putting families, homes, and livelihoods at risk with every storm. It’s crucial to invest in comprehensive flood management and mitigation strategies to protect our communities from the devastating impact of floods.

Reducing Emergency Response Times

In any emergency, every second counts. We need to invest in our emergency services by providing the necessary resources, training, technology, and infrastructure to ensure swift responses to those in distress.

Planning and Zoning

As our communities grow, it’s important to revisit and amend previously approved zoning for Heavy or Limited Industrial areas near residential neighborhoods. These “non-conforming” facilities could pose long-term health risks to nearby residents, and we must take action to safeguard the well-being of our communities.
