About the Candidate
Christine Marie Giguere has proudly called Myrtle Beach home for more than 30 years, gaining a deep understanding of the community’s growth and evolving needs. Now a candidate for South Carolina House District 107, she is running on a platform centered on compassion, accessibility, and connection.
Christine is committed to representing all residents—from The Market Common to areas south of Windy Hill—by advocating for expanded accessibility for individuals with disabilities, protecting women’s reproductive rights, and supporting a higher minimum wage. She also prioritizes improvements to local transit and infrastructure to better serve a growing population.
Through inclusive leadership and a focus on fundamental rights, Christine aims to help build a stronger, more equitable South Carolina—one where every voice is heard and every neighbor is supported.
Platform
Christine’s campaign for South Carolina House is centered on four key priorities aimed at strengthening and empowering the Myrtle Beach community:
-
Women’s Reproductive Rights
Christine is firmly committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and ensuring bodily autonomy for all.
-
Economic Empowerment
She supports raising the minimum wage to better reflect today’s cost of living and to help working families achieve greater financial stability.
-
Accessibility & Inclusion
Christine advocates for expanded infrastructure and resources to ensure individuals with disabilities have full access to their communities, while also supporting stronger protections for LGBTQ+ individuals.
-
Local Transit & Connectivity
She prioritizes improving public transportation and infrastructure to better connect residents to jobs, schools, and essential services—creating a more accessible, mobile, and unified community across all areas of Myrtle Beach.
