The Horry County Democratic Party is accepting nominations for two county officer vacancies: Second Vice Chair and Third Vice Chair.
The nomination period will open on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 8:00 AM, and close at 11:59 PM on Friday, August 21, 2026.
The HCDP Executive Committee will elect both officers during its meeting on Monday, September 14, 2026. Only eligible Executive Committee members may vote in the election.
Second Vice Chair
Candidates for Second Vice Chair must:
- Be residents and registered voters of Horry County.
- Meet the applicable eligibility requirements established by HCDP and SCDP.
- Be of a race different from the current HCDP Chair.
- Be willing to support the Chair, Executive Committee and work of the county party.
- Be able to attend meetings and participate actively in HCDP programs and activities.
Third Vice Chair
Candidates for Third Vice Chair must:
- Be residents and registered voters of Horry County.
- Be between 18 and 36 years of age.
- Meet the applicable eligibility requirements established by HCDP and SCDP.
- Be willing to help engage younger voters and volunteers.
- Be able to attend meetings and participate actively in HCDP programs and activities.
Democrats may nominate themselves or nominate another qualified individual. A person nominated by someone else must confirm their willingness to serve before being placed on the ballot.
Submitting a nomination does not constitute a vote. Only eligible members of the HCDP Executive Committee may vote in the September 14 election.
