The Horry County Democratic Party is accepting nominations for the vacant offices of Second Vice Chair and Third Vice Chair.

Nominations will be accepted beginning Thursday, August 13, 2026, and must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2026.

The election for both positions will be conducted during the Horry County Democratic Party Executive Committee meeting on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Only eligible members of the HCDP Executive Committee may vote in the election. Completing this form does not constitute a vote and does not guarantee that the individual will appear on the final ballot. All submissions will be reviewed to confirm the candidate’s eligibility and willingness to serve.

Candidates may nominate themselves. A person may also nominate another eligible Democrat, but the nominee must confirm their willingness to serve before being placed on the ballot.

Important eligibility information

The current SCDP Rules require county officers to be residents and voters of the county. They also provide that no person may hold more than one county party office and that a person convicted of a state or federal crime related to voting or the conduct of an election may not hold party office.

The position-specific requirements are:

Second Vice Chair

The Second Vice Chair must be of a race different from the current HCDP Chair.

• Serves as an officer of the Horry County Democratic Party.
• Serves as a member of the HCDP Executive Committee.
• Supports the Chair and the work of the county party.
• Performs responsibilities assigned by the Chair.
• Assists with party organization, outreach, events, communications, candidate support and other HCDP activities.

Third Vice Chair

The Third Vice Chair must be between 18 and 36 years of age.

• Serves as an officer of the Horry County Democratic Party.
• Serves as a member of the HCDP Executive Committee.
• Helps engage and recruit younger voters and Democratic volunteers.
• Supports youth outreach and participation within the county party.
• Performs responsibilities assigned by the Chair.
• Assists with party organization, outreach, events, communications, candidate support and other HCDP activities.
