Bio

Michelle Green is a candidate for Horry County Schools District 9, bringing a strong commitment to family values and faith. As a lifelong resident of Horry County and a product of its schools, Michelle is deeply connected to the community. She is a mother of two adult sons, a mother-in-law, and a proud grandmother, all of which underscore her dedication to family and tradition.

With a distinguished 30-year career in education, Michelle has dedicated her life to serving others. She holds a Master’s Degree in School Leadership and Supervision and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in K-8 Elementary Education. Her extensive professional experience includes roles as a third, fifth, and seventh-grade teacher, assistant principal, and principal at various school levels, including middle, intermediate/elementary, and primary schools. Additionally, Michelle served as the Human Resources Director for Horry County Schools, where she managed recruiting, hiring, employee retention, budgeting, and personnel matters. She also developed and led an Aspiring Leaders program to nurture future educational leaders within the district.

Throughout her career, Michelle has thrived in diverse educational environments, including Title I schools, middle-class communities, and affluent areas. Her experiences have fueled her passion for continuous growth and leadership development. Identified by the Gallup Strengths Finder as having strengths in restoration, belief, discipline, responsibility, and positivity, Michelle is driven by a belief in the potential for revival and improvement in any situation. She is committed to collaboration, resource-sharing, and data-driven decision-making to create a world of opportunities for all students in Horry County.
