About the Candidate
Pete (John) Bember is a graduate of Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business. During his time at Newberry, he also excelled on the football field, earning multiple All-American honors.
Following college, Pete began his professional career as a Buyer with JB White’s Department Stores before moving into a successful 20+ year career in Sales Management. In 2007, he became a business owner with the purchase of the Atlanta franchise of THM Magazine, a publication serving over 500,000 local homeowners in print media.
Pete is currently a local businessman in Horry County, bringing extensive experience across multiple industries. He has more than 15 years in the mortgage industry, working with traditional, non-traditional, and construction loans, along with over 15 years of experience as a business owner.
A dedicated community advocate, Pete has been actively involved in numerous service organizations and initiatives. His community service includes work with The Jaycees, Junior Achievement, Lighthouse Youth Services, programs supporting children with disabilities, First Tee, and Project Feed the Homeless. He is also a curent member of the Conway High Education Board and a recreational football coach.

A former All-State running back at Conway High School and a successful local businessman, Pete understands the value of hard work, discipline, and what it takes to provide for a family.
