A major voter registration effort to register voters by May 11, the last day of qualification for the June 12 Democratic primary, is being launched by the Horry County Democratic Party (HCDP). This effort follows months of voter registration drives by individual Democratic clubs.
HCDP headquarters, at 311C Beaty St. (off Fourth), in Conway will be available all day May 1st from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to register voters, with an open house celebrating registered voters from 4 to 7 p.m. on that day.
In an additional effort to increase voter registration awareness, HCDP is requesting that voters tell how us and when they successfully registered by calling the headquarters office at 843-488-4237 or by emailing that information to info@horrycounty.org.
This voter registration effort, to insure a large turnout for the June 12 primary, is very important. “Masses of voters turning up at the polls can assure the best candidates for the November elections and lead to success in turning Horry County and the State blue,” according to Don Kohn, HCDP chair.
Individuals can also register to vote on scvotes.gov with a SC driver’s license or DMV ID, or they may register at the Voter Registration and Elections Office, 1515 Fourth Ave., Conway. Youth who will be 18 on or before election day, November 6, can register now, and if registered by May 11 can vote in the June 12 primary.
