Horry Dems Join Women’s March

A strong contingent of Democrats, including many members of HCDP, demonstrated for women’s rights Saturday, January 19 at the Women’s March in Myrtle Beach, sponsored by Grand Strand Action Together (GSAT).

HCDP supports and actively advocates for equality, affordable health care, voting rights and a safe and healthy environment, and was delighted at the turnout of more than 200 activists who rallied at Chapin Park.

The event’s theme was “Women’s Wave” and “Truth to Power”, recognizing the historic midterm elections which sent 42 women to Congress.

Enthusiastic attendees heard nine speakers highlighting human rights initiatives designed to lift up women in all corners of society. Participants expressed themselves with cheers, applause, and handmade signs calling for social justice and change to ensure equality for all people.

One of about 100 Women’s March events nationwide, this was the only one planned in South Carolina.

HCDP comments GSAT for its initiative in sponsoring this second annual Women’s March.
