Democratic Contests in June 14 Primary

Democratic candidates will face off in three races in the statewide Primary Election on Tuesday, June 14.  These races are in Senate and House districts which include portions of western and northwestern Horry County.

In Senate District 30, Patrick T. Richardson of Brittons Neck is challenging incumbent Kent Williams of Marion. This district includes precincts Aynor; Cool Springs; Galivants Ferry; Methodist-Mill Swamp; and Poplar Hill.

Three candidates are contending for the Democratic nomination in House District 57. They are Lucas Atkinson of Marion, Lee Walter Jenkins Jr. of Marion, and Ryan M. Waller of Mullins. House District 57 includes precincts Bayboro-Gurley; Hickory Hill; Joyner Swamp; Mt. Olive-Floyds; Pleasant View; and Taylorsville.

Dewon T. Huggins of Bucksport is challenging incumbent Carl L. Anderson of Georgetown for House District 103, which includes precincts Inland; Pawleys Swamp; and Port Harrelson.

Since most of these precincts are split across different Senate and House districts, voters are urged to check their voter registration online at scvotes.gov or call Horry County Voters Registration at 843-915-5440.
