Phillips Wins Dem Primary For District 7

Harold Phillips of Conway has won the Democratic primary for Horry County Council District 7. He will face Republican Robert Shelley in the special election on Tuesday, July 5.

In the primary three-way race, Phillips took 51% of the vote. Orton Bellamy received 27% and Lee Sherman received 22%.

Phillips is a member of the Horry County Planning Commission, and has served on the advisory committee to the Horry County Airport. He is an Air Force veteran and has owned and operated Phillips Electrical Service in Conway for many years.  For information: psquare5@sccoast.net

District 7 includes these precincts: Adrian (partial); East Conway; Four Mile (partial); Homewood (partial); Inland; Jamestown; Maple (partial); North Conway #1; North Conway #2; Pawleys Swamp (partial); Port Harrelson; Racepath #1; Racepath #2; Red Hill #1; Salem (partial); Toddville; West Conway; Wild Wing (partial).
