π¨ WE NEED DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES β NOW
Help Turn Horry County and South Carolina Blue in the 2026 Mid-Term Elections
The future of Horry County β and South Carolina β depends on who is willing to step forward and lead.
Right now, too many critical offices across our county and state have no Democratic candidate on the ballot. That means voters in many districts are left without a real choice. That must change.
The Horry County Democratic Party (HCDP) is calling on Democrats, community leaders, activists, educators, parents, veterans, professionals, retirees, and young leaders to consider running for office β or help recruit someone who will.
π We need more Democrats in Horry County and South Carolina.
π We need candidates for every seat.
π We can win β but only if we show up.
Across the country and right here in South Carolina, Democrats are beginning to break through against MAGA extremism. In several recent races, Democratic candidates have either won or come within just a few votes of victory β something that was considered nearly impossible just a few years ago.
Momentum is real. Progress is possible. But it starts now β with candidates.
πΊπΈ Why This Election Matters
Voter apathy has allowed extremist politics to dominate too many local and state offices. This election cycle is shaping up to be one of the most consequential in our lifetime β possibly in American history.
βTrumpismβ motivates voters to turn out against something, but we must also give voters something to vote for. That begins with recruiting strong, visible Democratic candidates in every race so voters know they have a real alternative.
When voters see Democrats running in every district and for every office, it builds excitement, engagement, and turnout. Democracy works best when people have choices.
π΄ The Entire Horry County Council Is Republican β Every Seat
Currently, every single member of the Horry County Council is Republican β many aligned with MAGA ideology. On the HCDP website, council members are shown in bright red to reflect this imbalance.
That must change!
π Seven of the twelve County Council seats are up for election this year.
π Districts 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11 currently need Democratic candidates.
Before we can flip these seats, we must first recruit candidates willing to run.
