“Rage for the Wage” Rally with Mal Hyman on Thurs. 9/29

Are you supporting one or more people on $7.25 per hour? Or maybe serving in a restaurant for $2.13 per hour plus tips? Are you stuck in a minimum wage job and trying to pay the bills, go to school, raise a kid, have a decent life?

Mal Hyman is ready to “Rage for the Wage” with you!

rage-wage-logoMeet Mal, our Democratic candidate for the U.S. 7th Congressional District, at the Rally this Thursday evening in Surfside Beach sponsored by the South Enders Democratic Club.

Admission is FREE. Enjoy music by DJ ShawtFuze, register to vote, and learn how Mal and Democratic candidates up and down the ticket will work for you! Cash bar and light fare menu available.

Mal understands that the economy in Horry County is primarily based in the Leisure and Hospitality industries, which rely on minimum wage and seasonal workers far more than most industries. Retail work is another large part of Horry’s economy and it, too, depends on minimum wage workers. But someone working 40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year earns $15,080 – slightly below the poverty level of $15,930 for a family of two.

By increasing the minimum wage and putting money into the hands of people who need it, the economy across Horry County will benefit. It’s just “Common Sense for the Common Good“!

The Rally takes place on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 9:00 pm – 1:00 am, at the Brickhouse Lounge at Surfside Bowl, 510 Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach, SC 29575. Questions? Contact info@southenders.org
