The HCDP Gun Sense Action Committee will participate with other local advocacy groups to commemorate Nation Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 2.
Also, the Grand Strand Chapter of Moms Demand Action is sponsoring a number of events, including a Stop Gun Violence Rally at the Myrtle Beach Skywheel on June 2 at 8 pm.
The HCDP Gun Sense Action Committee requests all Horry County residents to participate in the Display/Wear Orange campaign this weekend to help raise gun violence awareness. We are asking everyone to include orange as part of their clothing, on their pets, mailboxes, houses or property from June 2 through June 4.
A contest is being held to award the person with the best and/or most creative “display orange” picture sent to us. The prize will include an orange “tee” shirt and a lottery ticket. Please enter the contest by sending a picture of your Display/Wear Orange entry, along with your name and contact information to Henry Garbelman at hengar45@gmail.com for consideration.
