The Horry County Democratic Party is delighted to announce the Second Annual Senator Dick Elliott Memorial Golf Outing will be held Saturday, June 29 at the award-winning Legends Golf Resort’s Parkland Course in Myrtle Beach.
Plan now to join in the fun with friends and associates and sign up now. Last year’s event was sold out with a lengthy wait list, so don’t wait. It’ll be easy and fun… a scramble, where everyone gets to tee off, then hit from the best ball, and then again.
As was the case last year, golfers will have an opportunity to win a 2019 Corvette in a hole-in-one contest on one of the course’s par 3 holes thanks to the sponsorship of Anderson Insurance LLC, Little River. And, a portion of our profits from the golf outing will benefit the local veterans through the Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center in Little River.
“We chose to dedicate this event to Senator Elliott because of the tremendous amount of respect that we all have for him,” said HCDP Chairman Don Kohn. “Senator Elliott made a real difference in the lives of the people of South Carolina.”
Following last year’s outing, Elliott’s son Rick said his father would be “thrilled and humbled” at the big turnout. “My dad never asked if you were a Republican or a Democrat. He just helped. My dad just saw friends.”
“Golf has a way of bringing people together and golf is the great communicator in many ways,” Elliott said. “It allows us to have good conversations and relationships to be built and to build upon existing relationships. That is positive for our community.
“This event, in memory of my dad, is an honor and very much appreciated and we are delighted as a family to support HCDP and the local businesses and citizens that have put together this event. It is truly awesome. I am amazed at the people who have turned out and the diversity that is represented. This event is a microcosm of our community and our party. Everyone is welcome. Our door is open.”
Joining HCDP in hosting the Outing again this year will be Elliott Realty and Eagle Nest Golf Club. Barbara Eisenhardt, who chairs HCDP’s golf outing committee, expressed appreciation to Elliott and his companies for their dedication and strong support.
“We have been so blessed to have the support of the Elliott family, as well as the overwhelming support of community businesses and golfers alike from Myrtle Beach, Conway, Little River, Surfside Beach, Loris and other communities across the Grand Strand (and also as far away as New Jersey),” said Eisenhardt. “We look forward to once again paying tribute to Senator Dick Elliott and supporting the HCDP and local veterans.”
The Details
The Early Bird registration fee of $240 will apply to foursomes that are registered and paid by June 1, 2019. The fee thereafter will be $260 per foursome ($65 per golfer), with a deadline for registration of June 15, 2019.
In addition to golf, the registration fee includes a breakfast buffet, a cart, two beverage tickets (iced tea, soda or draft beer) and the Awards Lunch. In addition, there will be Mulligans, prizes, 50/50s and a cash bar.
There are numerous sponsorship opportunities for individuals, companies and organizations, including:
- Hole Sponsorship — $100 – Includes one 18”x24” sign at tee box or green, recognition in program.
- Gold Sponsor — $2000 – Includes 1 foursome, 18”x24” sign at tee box and green, recognition in program.
- Silver Sponsor — $1000 – Includes 2 golfers, 18”x24” sign at tee box and green, recognition in program.
- Bronze Sponsor — $500 – Includes 1 golfer, 18”x24” sign at tee box and green, recognition in program.
- Raffle prize donations.
For those not golfing who would like to join us for the buffet breakfast and/or lunch, the price is $20 for one of either of those meals or $25 for both.
