You’ve got a ticket to ride… to Democratic victories in 2016!
Horry County Democrats will kickoff the 2016 campaign with a press conference and meet ‘n greet with Democratic Party candidates for local, state and federal office on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:00 am at the historic Myrtle Beach Train Depot in old downtown Myrtle Beach.
HCDP Chair Bennie Swans will host and moderate the event. Co-host Rick Elliott (pictured left), president of Elliott Realty in North Myrtle Beach, will deliver keynote remarks.
“It’s time to bring back the two-party system in Horry County,” says Swans. “Government works best when we have a fully functioning, rational, competent, two-party system at every level. We’re asking everyone to ‘Get on Board’ and start electing Democrats again.”
Invited candidates include Pastor Thomas Dixon (challenging Tim Scott for U.S. Senate) and Mal Hyman (challenging Tom Rice for 7th CD). Local candidates for Horry County Council and School Board, as well as for SC House and Senate, will also be introduced. The guest list will be released as speakers are confirmed.
The event is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
